Victorian Style
From the mid 1800's into the late 19th century the ornate and orientalist styled wicker made its way from the porch into the home. The elaborate designs reflected the increasing interest in home decor. The naturalness of the woven pieces combined with the fanciful design made Victorian wicker a must have for decorators. Comfortable and friendly, the exotic designs lasted in popularity well into the early 20th century. These designs with curliques and rosettes, beading and "snowflakes" weavings are still popular in homes today.
