Curtis Designs Ltd. introduced an American made line of wicker furnishings in Los Angeles over ten years ago. Heywood-Wakefield was used as the inspiration and gold standard for the highest quality of American craftsmanship and design. Heywood-Wakefield dominated the world of woven furnishings from the mid nineteenth century and well into the twentieth.
Our Los Angeles studio has created custom wicker pieces for architects, interior designers and the discriminating retail client. Using hardwood frames, the finest reed, seagrass, rattan and bamboo we can create or recreate beautiful American woven furnishings. Custom coloring and finishes add to the unique look of each piece. As our Los Angeles studio is reaching capacity, we will begin additional production in Camden, Maine.
An important aspect of Leslie Curtis Designs is the ability to create custom wicker pieces based on photos, drawings or alterations to existing designs.
